Dear Hubby, Happy Handmade Birthday! ;)

The month of October brings in many joys... some Indian festivals (loaded with prayers, sweets & desserts, traditional attires & lots of excitement!), my Father's birthday & my Hubby's birthday!
This year (like last year) I wanted to gift my Hubby something special... something that he would not have had previously and would have it just for himself... So I went ahead with creating these...

1) A poster with his initial letter 'A' & words defining him.

2) Birthday Notes
Tried various fonts here, I guess it worked wonders! :)

Originally planned to get my daughter to color these animals,
but I guess its readable this way! lol!

3) A Coffee Mug printed with a collage of his pics...

Its a wonderful feeling... to make, gift and then see the expressions!

Love & Hugs!

Tis the time to be Happy!

Its festive time all across the world... with every country celebrating some or the other festival every other week & month... I love the varied cultural festivities that take place all around the world... Specially in countries like India & China, festivals begin right from the month of June and extend up to February /March.... there are numerous little things that get celebrated during these months... all owing to their deep rooted traditions and the diversity of people of the two great Asian Giants!

Well, festivities bring along a wonderful spirit of gifting... the joy of giving and receiving gifts from loved ones... While people are now exposed to an amazing and overflowing resource of gifting ideas and options, the desire of gifting something special is always there. We all would love getting gifts that are not just special, but also customized to suit our needs or choices.

I think Handmade gifts are the nicest gifts. Not only do they add a special personal touch, they are something you don't find in millions in your neighborhood market! And when you make something so special, you add extra effort, love and care, thereby infusing an amazing amount of energy into that creation!

All this month, I've been super busy creating a few gifts... a few gift tags & gift papers... This month also brings in my Hubby's birthday, so that is the biggest and most personalized project to work on ... I love surprises & I absolutely love giving surprises... so the element of (gifting) surprise is what gives me the energy to go and make these wonderful creations, all infused with my love and care!

Before I start uploading my series of handmade gifts, I'd love to share some Gift Tags & Gift wrap Papers I created for you! Just print* and create... no last minute panic... :)

A Label called 'Handmade'

A wonderful feeling expressed in my own words... Just thought I'd create a little poster for all the wonderful Handmade artists, craftists around the world...

Handmade Toys

Ever since I have begun making toys for my little girl...somehow it has become difficult to appreciate toys (particularly dolls & softies) available in the shops... Most of them all look the same, feel quite plastic and don't have that pure innocence...

I remember playing with some crocheted dolls when I was just about three... Of course at that time I had the pleasure of playing with toys that were 'Made in Japan' label. Most of them were unique & often you'd not find the same piece (unlike now wherein you have thousands of those clones!). I loved my baby doll (she would cry and had a little pacifier in her mouth), LEGO land & many of those softies which were so adorable and had something or the other to keep me busy (I had this little boy whose neck would twist and turn on winding the key on his back. So adorable. I can still play with it for hours!)

Now, when I buy toys for my little one, its not the same feeling. Me being a soft toy hoarder (I have all my soft toys kept safely in my Mom's house), I don't feel like buying them anymore. Instead, its a joy to create something with my own hands, something that will be unique, something that she will cherish for years, something that I will be proud of, something that will be made with immense love & care.

A little collage of my softies that I've made till now... and planned many more :)
I don't know where I will stock so many of them, but all I know is that I want to go on making many of them as long as I can! :)

And to end this post, I just came up with a long and lovely statement about Handmade creations:
Handmade is all about cherishing & enjoying a unique and pure creation made with immense Love, Care & Joy...

Agree? :)
